For a long time now I've wanted to find the "proper" track order for the Heaven's Gate soundtrack CD. I finally sat down with the CD and DVD and this is the best that I could do. Any corrections would be greatly appreciated. Smile

14. Overture *
8. Sweet Breeze (Opening titles)
2. Song of '70 (Jim on train)
15. Immigrant Road
16. Meeting Billy
7. Ella's Waltz (Jim arrives at Ella's)
17. Baby's Song (Ella's bedroom) **
10. Moonlight (Ella's new horse)
12. Village Dance (Riding into town)
1. Slow Water (At the river)
9. Mamou Two-Step (Heaven's Gate)
3. Heaven's Gate Waltz (Jim and Ella waltz)
11. Morning Star (Nate arrives at Ella's)
18. Slow Water Reprised *
19. Intermission
20. Playing in the Barn
21. Champion's Death
22. Shooting of Mayor ***
13. The Long Road (At Nate's body)
4. Snowfall (Also at Nate's body)
6. Battle Hymn *
5. Blue Danube (End of battle) **
23. Ella's Death
24. The Yacht
25. End Credits

* Not found in movie (DVD)
** Not same performance as in movie (DVD)
*** Not actually listed on CD track list!

As far as I can remember you've got it right. By the way, the overture was for the shortened US theatrical release (probably not available anywhere). Since Michael was going to "lose" the intermission in the short cut of the film, he got UA to agree to my recording an overture instead. Also, as I recall, we used my demo of "Baby's Song" for the scene in the bedroom; Michael liked it more than the final recorded version, which also happened with "Slow Water" (river scene).
Best,
David
